From time to time we organise Tours. These can range from a short 2 hour event to an all day event.
We are organizing a cultural tour to Malta on Wednesday November 11th 2015
The two main highlights will be a visit to the Great Siege Exhibition currently at the Grandmaster’s Palace in Valletta as well as a guided tour of the newly restored Fort St. Angelo, to which we will be given special access.
We will meet on the 8:15am ferry and board our bus at Cirkewwa. It will drive us to Valletta where we will walk to the exhibition at the Palace (approx. 1 hour at exhibition).
We will then be met by Heritage Malta Head of Curatorial Affairs Godwin Vella who will lead us down to Lascaris Wharf (via Upper Barrakka lift) to get the boat and cross over to Fort St. Angelo. We will proceed to the Fort, which will be opened specifically for us.
Once at the fort, we will have a half-hour break with a light lunch being served (tea/coffee, sandwiches, pastizzi & cake). We can then work off some of the pastizzi as we follow Godwin on a guided tour and explanation of the restoration of the fort.
We will then return to our bus which will take us back to Cirkewwa for our return to Gozo on the 3:45pm or 4:30pm ferry, depending on traffic.
Prices: Members – €20 Non-members - €25
Price includes:
The number of participants is limited to 20.
This will be a great opportunity to see these two sites (one of which is not open to the public) and offers a sizeable discount over normal fees (adult entry fee alone to the Great Siege exhibition is 15 euro).
Those interested are to send in a cheque, payable to Wirt Għawdex, no later than Friday November 6th 2015. Cheques can be mailed to Wirt Għawdex, Dar il-Gvernatur, Mġarr Rd, Rabat or dropped in our mailbox at the same address. Please include a mobile contact number on back of cheque.
Payment will be returned should the limit of 20 have already been reached.
