Wirt Ghawdex announces that 2 of its sites under its management - (1) The Gunpowder Magazine, Battery and Citadel Silos and (2) the Mgarr ix-Xini Tower - are open free of charge to the general public as follows:
These sites are kindly being opened by volunteers of Wirt Ghawdex. Visitors to the Mgarr ix-Xini Tower should book an appointment by sending an e-mail to info@wirtghawdex.org. The opening of these sites can also be made available to group visits, by appointment.
As more volunteers become available, these sites could be opened more often. Therefore, should anyone be interested in volunteering, please send an e-mail to info@wirtghawdex.org.
Friday 23rd JULY 2010 at the Conference Hall, Ministry for GozoThis is the official launch of a book called "The earliest Church register in Gozo: 1554β1628" by Professor Horatio C.R. Vella.
The book is a transcription of the said register housed at the Bishop's Curia, as well as a study of the same.
This is a book on Gozo and its early inhabitants, which is why it is being launched in Gozo for the first time. ![]()
